What is your identity?
You are here for a reason! In this world – and on this web page. You’ve been on my mind as I’ve been praying for God to reveal His work all around me. He’s brought to light an opportunity to take a leap-of faith and to make online fellowship available to others.
Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.
Hebrews 10:24
Perhaps you know me as a woman’s Bible study leader or a youth ministry small group leader. As a small group leader I was taught to share that our identity is in Christ. I never knew what that meant, I just knew it as a blanket statement that “my identity is in Christ”. Now I understand that my personal identity was formed by Christ when I was in my mother’s womb – God named me, called me by name, and formed my identity 💡🤯🔥⚡️.
Two years ago God used a book containing guided prayer to lead me to understand and hear from Him. And to know what He called me – my true identity. Now I get it! It’s not a blanket statement, it’s a personal experience. Having received that word from God, I am compelled to share the experience with others and extend the invitation. My desire is to walk alongside women like yourself, seeking to know their identity in Christ – and discover what the Living God, their Creator, calls them. For us to learn, in community, how to move forward in that identity instead of the false beliefs and fears that fill our minds.
What has God been showing you?
I’ve discovered after rereading the book for a second time- that my identity is like an onion. It’s got layers. God is revealing to me what I need to know about my identity so that I can move forward in that knowledge and continue to grow as a follower. I used to call myself a believer in Christ – which is a passive way to walk through life with knowledge and salvation, but it had no call to action! Now I declare myself to be a Follower of Christ – walking as closely as I can to him in my daily journey. Perhaps you feel that way, too. Like that next level of relationship and forward momentum is missing.
Are you seeking fellowship with a few special like-minded women to be encouraged by and pray with?
God has placed on my heart a picture of a beautiful scenario where women can meet, draw nearer Him, be encouraged by one another and not leave their home. No driving… no babysitter… no bad weather cancellations! This opportunity means we can meet whether we’re in the same town or not. Even in different time zones. While I’ve been praying for next steps for this picture, several women have reached out to me asking for ways to connect.
I wonder if God has placed something like this on your heart as well?
What I am doing out of obedience is offering a next step.
Would you consider joining a biweekly zoom meeting?
Logistically it would be five or six women who read and discuss the book “Living Fearless” by Jamie Winship together. All you would need is a device for logging into the Zoom platform, the book in any format you choose (digital, audio, or paperback) a pen, and a journal or notebook.
This is a four-part book, but I would like to have five meeting dates on each of our calendars.
The first meeting:
- get to know each other
- introduce the book
- discuss next steps
Then we would (re)read Part 1 on our own and review the discussion questions. This allows you to work at your own pace yet be accountable to complete the reading in preparation for our discussion. This deeper dive allows God to work in each of hearts between sessions.

Next: Read the Book
The Living Fearless book is designed to be read in one sitting, or over two days. It is a personal study experience one-on-one with the Living God. Our discussion time together will be to review, in community, the four parts/chapters and take a deeper dive into what God wants each of us to learn about our identity in Him. So, reading the book as soon as you are able will allow God to work in your heart and prepare you to share what you are learning with the rest of our group.
